The Naming Ceremony of “Green Anax”
On the 14th of March 2023 Aegean Shipping Management celebrated the naming ceremony of M/T Green Anax at COSCO Shipyard Heavy Industry Yangzhou, China. The ceremony was live-streamed from Yangzhou.
The ceremony attended the CFO of Aegean Shipping Mr. Kechris, the Marine Manager Captain Mendrinos, the General Manager of COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry Commercial Mr. Swen Sun, the Deputy Director of MARIC Mr. Zhu Jianzhang, the Deputy Chief Executive of BV China Mr. Bill Chen, the General Manager of Transaction Banking Department from SPD bank, Nan Jing branch Ms. Gu Minjun, the Project Manager Mr. Konstantinidis, Captain Santos, Officers & Crew , shipyard & Class representatives.
The general manager of COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Commercial headquarters Mr. Swen Sun in his speech stated: “In this beautiful season, we hold a grand naming ceremony for One Hundred and Fourteen thousand DWT Crude Oil tanker. First of all, on behalf of Yangzhou CHI, I would like to extend my warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the leaders and guests who have come here and attended the event via video.
Aegean Shipping Management is a very important partner of us, which has maintained good cooperation for many years in the field of ship construction. In September 2020, our company had signed a project with Aegean Shipping to build four new One Hundred and Fourteen thousand DWT Crude Oil tanker. The N986 is the last vessel in this series. The first three vessels have been delivered smoothly as planned and are in good operation condition. The series vessels are equipped with energy saving devices of eddy fin and denitration devices of main and auxiliary engines to meet the latest emission and environmental protection requirements. It has reached the world first-class level in speed, fuel consumption, deadweight and other comprehensive performance. It is a vessel product with advanced design, low carbon environmental protection, economy and energy saving, safety and reliability, and has competitive advantages.
The smooth construction of N986 has been supported by the Shipowner Company, Ship Design Institute, Project Supervision team, BV Classification Society, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and other relevant units. Here, on behalf of Yangzhou CHI. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and high respect to all parties involved in this project.
This naming means that the One Hundred and Fourteen thousand DWT Crude Oil tanker project built by Yangzhou CHI for Aegean Shipping will come to a perfect end. Through this project, both sides have established a good cooperative relationship of sincerity and mutual trust.
Yangzhou CHI is looking forward to working with Aegean Shipping to continue to deepen win-win cooperation based on the new shipping situation and aiming at new development goals. The vessel sailed from the shipyard and is now on her way to Korea.
