Athanasakos Nikos
Head of Marine / DPA
Captain Nikos Athanasakos joined the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos in 1992 and he started his career as Deck Officer back in 1997. He has a sea service experience onboard tankers for more than 5 years, up to the rank of Master.
Since his time as Chief Officer had been trained ashore as part of his roving career. He had served as a DPA, Marine and Vetting Manager for a number of years in reputable shipping operators.
On 2016 had been accredited as an OCIMF SIRE inspector Cat.1 up to the end of 2017, which helped him to understand better the today’s industry challenges.
He joined Aegean Shipping Management on 2024 as Head of Marine / DPA.
On a personal note… Since my early age, I enjoyed Greek traditional dancing….. I’m always looking for the opportunity to dance wherever, if it is a theater or a traditional Greek gathering party!
