ESG Shipping Awards: Global ‘first’ with 200 nominations – Who were awarded? – Business Ethics Award for Aegean Shipping Management! 

Aegean Shipping Management is ESG award winner, taking the Business Ethics Silver Award!

The awarding of the first ESG Awards of Greek shipping took place on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the Megaron Concert Hall.  The CEO of Aegean Shipping Management, Mr. N. Hondos stated:  “We feel very proud that we were distinguished among so many well-known shipping companies. In Aegean Shipping we have defined from the very beginning what is right, what is wrong, and what is appropriate in our activities. We believe that when we do the right thing, we will always succeed . We aim a sustainable development and transparency. We believe in healthy competition and a positive impact in the environment and society. Once again we’d like to thank you for this distinction and reassure you that in our Company we will continue to maintain high standards of business ethics.”

The ESG awards as an idea were “born” before they were even institutionalized from the need of the people of Greek shipping not just to be honored but to remain pioneers in the face of the challenges of the time. After all, in this spirit, Greek shipping companies have been leading the way for decades, developing actions and practices for the protection of the environment, the promotion of social cohesion and the principles of corporate governance.

With more than 200 nominations in 11 award categories, the premiere of the first ESG Shipping awards worldwide demonstrated its acceptance by the Greek shipping community and laid a secure foundation for the transition of shipping to a new era of sustainable development.
