Aegean Shipping Management and COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Yangzhou reached an agreement for the construction of two + two tankers, LR2 type ice class 1C, with a carrying capacity of 114,000 dwt each.
These are ships with:

- complying with Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) – Phase III
- the latest version of MAN B&W electronic Engine (ensures optimal fuel consumption & Environmental Compliance equipped with HPSCR system for NOx reduction)
- Sufficient Power reserves by large Diesel Generator allowing future retrofits to be implemented if required.
- LED lighting (reduce energy consumption and the generation of hazardous materials)
- frequency converters installed on various consumers in Engine Room achieving energy savings
- latest technology of advanced low-friction, and self lubricating antifouling with extended idle time
Moreover, the ships will have installed:
- proven state-of-the-art marine ballast treatment systems
- reliable and Efficient Exhaust Gas Cleaning System
- energy saving devices like Pre-shrouded Vanes (PSV) and Hub Vortex Absorber Fins (HVAF)
